Why we started Bespoke Home Builder
I started Bespoke Home Builder because I love creating homes that are genuinely one-of-a-kind. Not cookie-cutter. Not rushed. Just solid, beautiful work.
But within the first year on site, I noticed something frustrating. Every time I bought a tool — whether from a big box store or a premium brand — it felt like a gamble. Either I paid way too much for a name, or I saved money and got something that failed after three weeks of real use.
No dust protection. No real warranty. No one asking: "What does a builder actually need?"
So I decided to do two things: Keep building bespoke homes — because that's my craft. Start selling tools — but only the ones I'd trust on my own sites.
We're not trying to sell 10,000 random items. We're starting with 10. Then 20. Then 50. Every single one tested by our own team first. If it can't handle a British winter on a muddy site, or a summer week of 12-hour days — it doesn't go on this website. That's the promise. No showroom gloss. No fake reviews.
What matters most when buying tools
You don't waste money on the wrong tool
I've seen it hundreds of times. A DIYer buys a £500 tradesman-grade tool for a one-weekend job. Or a builder buys a cheap £30 tool that fails on a Monday morning. Both are a waste.
We won't upsell you. If a £50 tool does the job, we'll tell you. If you need the £1,500 version because you use it daily, we'll explain why. No guesswork. No regret.
The tool works when you need it — not just when it's new
A tool that breaks after 3 months is worse than no tool at all. Every tool we sell has been: Used on our own building sites (rain, mud, dust, drops), tested for at least 2 weeks of real work, opened, inspected, and abused before we list it.
If it survives us — it'll survive you.
You actually understand what you're buying
Have you ever bought a tool online and realised: The "heavy duty" claim meant nothing? The battery wasn't included? The description was written by someone who's never held a hammer?
